Christmas Scene Easel Card

I made this card for Day 9 of OnlineCardClasses.com. The theme was snowflakes and I swear I meant to use them, but Caly Person's easel card technique was the most compelling part and when I went to add the snowflakes at the end, they just didn't seem to fit.

I shopped my stash for this card and some of the items I used are on sale/clearance right now, so it might be worth a look.

Card Size: A2

Process

I adhered patterned paper to the front of an A2 card and cut out an arch using the Spellbinders, Essential Arches. Then I took that arch and the next larger one and cute out a bunch of frames to build my scene in.

In Caly Person's card, she used vellum as a backer which would have added stability, but I wanted it to be see through so tripled up the tree and then created a tri-fold card out of 2 A2 top-folding cards so I could let the glitter paper be a backdrop to the tree scene.

The tree was really simple. I cut out the base of the tree with the Spellbinders, O Christmas Tree Die and then created the snow by using the Spellbinders, Layered Christmas Tree Stencil. I sponged white pigment ink through the stencil and then topped it with iridescent embossing powder.

I always make a set of custom greetings for my Christmas cards. Some sweet and some sassy. This year, they are available as a FREE Download. I hope you enjoy them. The specific sentiment options are listed in the supplies, but you can click on "Downloads" link at the top of the page to see all of the free downloads available.
