Christoph is a motorcycle journalist based in Eisenstadt, Austria. While other watches in his collection hold great memories (such as meeting our link Ben Clymer at Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este), this watch is uniquely special because he assembled it himself in a watch workshop with Ro&Ro link (Roman and Robert) about a decade ago. He fondly remembers the feeling when he assembled the movement and the link watch came to life – a process that really made him appreciate the art of watchmaking.
I have to say, if he ever wanted a second career in espionage I don't think he'd have any trouble fitting in at the cloak and dagger outfit of his choice. I definitely didn't see it coming. We had a desultory link but apparently meaningful and cordial chat and at the end link of it, without any preamble or indeed any warning at all, he grinned, took a small grey leather box I'd missed seeing off a shelf, and handed it to me. I opened link it and there was a 36mm yellow gold Rolex Day-Date.
